Can I add costs to jobs?

Job costs can be added manually to jobs if required, but with WorkDeskPro parts, labour, mileage and other costs can be automatically assigned to jobs based on the job activity. For example, if a quote is accepted by your customer, the parts on this quote can be transferred as a purchase order onto the newly created job. The mileage that the engineer drives to get to the job can be included at the rate set for that customer, and the amount of time the engineer spends on site can also be automatically logged as labour. All of this comes together neatly at the end to generate your invoice, allowing you the ability to edit as you require along the way.

Can my customers log jobs?

Of course, should you give them permission and user access. In fact, this is a great way to reduce your own time and at the same time giving you customers the empowerment to create and view their own data. Being able to view their certifications and documentation attached to previous jobs greatly reduces incoming phone calls and frees up office time to focus on important areas of your business.

Can I attach documents to jobs?

Yes, documents can in fact be attached to many things in the system as well as jobs including customer sites and users.

Where is WorkDeskPro hosted?

Being a cloud based system, we take advantage of Amazon Web Services – specifically their Elastic Cloud Compute, Relational Database Systems and a lot more including our DNS, load balancing, notification services, automatic replication and content delivery networks.

Can more than one technician be assigned to a job?

Absolutely. Multiple resources can be assigned to jobs at any time, and their individual status is also recorded. For each job you can see, for example, who is on site and who might be travelling to the job.

What do I need to run WorkDeskPro?

Only a web browser (we love Google Chrome) or a mobile device with an internet connection. There’s no software to install on either of these and they system is completely cloud based. We believe installable software for service management is completely unnecessary in today’s world.

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes. Currently WorkDeskPro requires an internet connection for both the web browser and mobile versions of the system. This ensures that data is updated in real time and stops the need for ‘native’ installed software on your computer or mobile device.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Data is stored and encrypted when backed up and transferred. We also have automatic backup and disaster recovery processes in place meaning if there is a problem at any of the data centres or servers that the software runs on, it’s automatically failed over to another. In fact, even if there is a spike in traffic and users the system will replicate itself seamlessly to increase availability.

Can I use WorkDeskPro in my country?

timezonesWorkDeskPro is designed to be multi lingual, multi timezone and multi currency. Settings can be configured on a company or an individual user level, so everyone can work on their own timezone. We’re based in the UK but offer round the clock support packages.
